Funeral service for Everett G. Stanger, 75, of Dickinson will be 10:00 a. m. , Monday, January 2, 2012 at Seventh Day Adventist Church, Dickinson, with Pastor Donavon Kack officiating. Burial will follow at Pioneer Cemetery in Taylor. Visitation for Everett will be from 9:00 a. m. to 2:00 p. m. , Saturday, December 31, 2011 at Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson. Visitation will continue on Monday, January 2, 2012 one hour prior to the service at the church. Everett passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at St. Joseph?s Hospital and Health Center in Dickinson. Everett G. Stanger was born November 26, 1936 in Arlington, WA, son of Harold and Esther (Elkin) Stanger. He lived in Arlington before moving with his family to North Dakota. Everett grew up on the family farm five miles south of Taylor. He completed his schooling in Harvey, ND, graduating from Sheyenne River Academy in 1955. After graduation, Everett moved to Washington where he worked for a number of years. It was during this time he was married and had two children. He returned to Taylor where he raised his two children. Everett worked for TMI for a number of years. In 1979, he began working for Northern Improvement as a truck driver and continued to do so for over 20 years. On February 22, 1992, Everett and Lenora (Schwindt) Galster were married at St. Patrick?s Catholic Church in Dickinson. The couple made their home in Dickinson. Everett was a skilled woodworker and spent many hours building furniture. He also enjoyed gardening; working on stationary engines and restored two Willy?s Jeeps. Everett is survived by his wife, Lenora of Dickinson; son, Jim (Coletta) of Gillette, WY; daughter, Gail Rae Berry of Carlyle, IL; three step-sons, Alvin (Chela) Galster, Jr. of Rapid City, SD, Allan Galster of Mandan, and Arlon Galster of Bismarck; two step-daughters, LaVonne (Kevin) Wojahn of Dickinson, and LaDonna (Jeff) McMahen of Dickinson; two brothers, Harold (Darlene) Stanger of Arlington, WA, and Howard Stanger of WallaWalla, WA; two sisters, Violet York of Arlington, WA, and Marian McGhee of Sun City, AZ; three grandchildren; 17 step-grandchildren; and seven step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers-in-law, Herb York and Bob McGhee; and one sister-in-law, Ramona Stanger.
