Faye Arlene Koenig was born January 6, 1950 in Beach, ND to Bob and Evelyn (Hartse) Morrison. She grew up with her younger sister, Donna on the family ranch by Ollie, MT. Faye went to grade school at Ollie and later attended high school at Baker where she graduated in 1968. She then moved to Dickinson, ND where she attended Dickinson State University and graduated with a business degree in 1972. Faye moved back to the family ranch and substitute taught at Baker until she started working as a clerk in the Fallon County Treasurer’s office in 1973. She held that position until she was elected as the Fallon County Treasurer in 1975. She continued her dedicated service as treasurer for the next 35 years. She was able to meet new and dear friends during her time with Fallon County. Faye met and married the love of her life, Dennis Koenig, September 15, 1973. To this union three children were born; Dustin, Darin, and Denise. Dennis and Faye eventually made their home at Faye’s family ranch. She loved the country life and being outdoors. She enjoyed animals, especially anything that involved horses, dogs, and cats. She loved working cows and the ranch way of life. Faye’s children and grandchildren were a huge part of her life. She loved them very much and enjoyed supporting them in their activities. She always wanted to be a part of everything they were involved in and was proud of all their achievements. Her favorite time was when her family could gather together and spend time with each other. Faye was an active member and supporter of 4-H for the last 40 years. She has been the club leader of Country Pals for the past 24 years. Faye held a special place in her heart for all her “4-H kids”. She loved visiting with everyone she met, especially with the people who came through the treasurer’s office. She always had something good to say about everyone; her smile and warmth will be missed by many. Faye passed away at home on Wednesday, February 18, 2015. She is survived by her husband, Dennis; son Darin (Johnna) Koenig and daughter Denise (Tyler) Noll; mother, Evelyn Morrison; her grandchildren Tina, Travis, Taylyn, Terrell; Kaelei, Logan, Kaden, Harlee, Jocelyn, Brady; Kinsley and numerous nieces and nephews.
