Florence passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at Dahl Memorial Hospital, Ekalaka, MT.

Florence Merle “Tootie” was born November 24, 1933 in Ekalaka, the seventh child born to Leslie and Belva (Stanton) Boggs. She was a twin who never shared the same birthday as her twin brother because Lawrence was born 10 minutes before midnight and Tootie was born ten minutes after midnight. Tootie grew up in Ekalaka and got her nickname from an older gentleman who lived with her family. As a young girl, she loved going to the post office and delivering the mail to all her neighbors.

After her mom passed away in 1970, Tootie lived with her sister Jeanie and her family on the ranch. She then moved to Miles City in 1973 and began working at Eastern Montana Industries, where she worked for as long as it has been open. Tootie lived in various foster homes around the Miles City area and later at the Friendship Villa. Following her move back to Ekalaka in 2010, Dahl Memorial became her final home.

Tootie was very proud to have participated in the Special Olympics. She enjoyed bowling, fishing, putting puzzles together by herself and watching cartoons. She also made a sport of acquiring pens and pencils over the years. Tootie attended the Valley Drive Baptist Church in Miles City and was baptized there. She will be dearly missed.

Tootie is survived by her sister, Jeanie Tauck of Ekalaka; brother, Robert Boggs of Baker; sister-in-law, Linda Boggs of Ekalaka; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leslie and Belva Boggs; sisters, Dorothy Womack, Wilma Stieg, Velma and Norma Lee Boggs; brothers, Donald, Lawrence, and Vernon Boggs.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations be made to the Dahl Memorial Nursing Home Activity Fund, 215 Sandy Street, Ekalaka, MT, 59324.
