Floyd Jahraus, age 78, of Glen Ullin, died Wednesday, November 30, 2005 at Medcenter One in Bismarck. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Central Time Monday, December 5, 2005 at the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Hebron with the Reverend Ken Trana officiating. Burial will be held in the church cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday, December 4, 2005 at Spangelo Funeral Home in Glen Ullin from 3-8:30 pm. And one hour prior to services at churchFloyd was born March 24, 1927 at Zeeland, ND the son Reuben and Emma (Roth) Jahraus. He was raised south of Glen Ullin at attended rural school. When he was 14 the family moved near Antelope, ND. Floyd later moved to Glen Ullin and worked building the Heart Butte Dam and for the Rural Electrification Administration. On Sept. 28, 1950 he entered the US Army and served Korea. While in Korea he met Yoon Jung Sun affectionately known as Betty. They were married May 8, 1953 in Korea. Following discharge on August 13, 1953 they returned to the Antelope area. They moved to Mandan for several years and in 1956 moved to a farm south of Glen Ullin where they lived and worked for many years. Since they lived so close the lake, Floyd enjoyed boating, and snowmobiling. In the spring of 1978 Betty died. He moved into Glen Ullin when he retired. Floyd was a member of the Glen Ullin American Legion and the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Hebron. He died Wednesday, November 30, 2005 at Medcenter One in Bismarck. Floyd leaves to mourn one daughter and son-in-law: Connie and Allan Sailer of Dickinson; three grandchildren: Robert Sailer, Doug Sailer, and Lisa Sailer, and three great grandchildren. He also leaves his brothers: Fred Jahraus, Mandan, ND; Ron Jahraus, Chandler, AZ; Betty Oster, Sun Lake, AZ and Grace Schneider, AZ; Genieve Kuntz, Missoula, MT. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Betty, and brothers: Duane, Virgil, Eugene, Ken and Gary.
