Funeral Services for Floyd Rapier, 81, Dickinson will be at 10:00 a. m. Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson. Burial will be at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, ND. Military Rites by the Dickinson Veteran?s Drill Team. Floyd passed away Thursday, November 18, 2010 at St. Lukes Home in Dickinson. Floyd Rapier was born April 10, 1929 in Milburn, Oklahoma to Isom and Clevey Rapier. He grew up and attended schools in Oklahoma. After his schooling, he enlisted to the United Sates Army which he served in until 1953. He was honorably discharged as a Sargent from active duty at St. Louis, MO. He returned to the Milburn and Tulsa area where he started a mechanic business and worked until he retired. After retirement, he moved to Dickinson where he had made his home since. Floyd enjoyed horses, being with his grandchildren and family. He also enjoyed fishing and being outdoors. Floyd is survived by two son, Doyle Roper, Wahpeton, ND and Donald Roper, Alaska; three daughters, Linda Lane, Salasal, OK, Brenda Base, Salasal, OK and Betty Crowly, North Carolina; one brother, Junior Rapier; one sister Margaret Tuell, Concourt CA; 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in Death by his parents; a brother, Wilfred and a sister, Florances
