Funeral Services for Forrest Rosendahl, 69, of New Salem, will be held 11:00 a. m. CST, Saturday, March 12, 2011 at the First Presbyterian Church, Mandan, ND with Pastor Deana Reikow officiating. Visitation for Forrest will be Friday, March 11, 2011 from 2:00 p. m. to 3:00 p. m. CST, at Elm Crest Manor in New Salem, ND and will continue from 5:00 p. m. to 7:00 p. m. CST, at First Presbyterian Church, Mandan, ND. Forrest passed away, Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at Elm Crest Manor in New Salem, ND. Forrest Eldon Rosendahl was born February 2, 1942 in Watford City, North Dakota, the son of Helmer and Ethel (Harris) Rosendahl. Throughout his childhood, Forrest lived in various places throughout the region. During his time in Almont, Forrest met Rowan Wanstrom and the two were married on September 12, 1959. The couple eventually settled in New Salem and it was there that they made their home and raised their family. During this time, Forrest worked for North Dakota Department of Transportation, EH Schmidt and Interstate Engineering as a land surveyor. Forrest was an Elder and Treasurer at First Presbyterian Church at New Salem. He enjoyed reading, assembling model airplanes and playing games, as well as spending time with his family and grandsons. Forrest is survived by his wife, Rowan; son, Darcy (Sara) Rosendahl of Bismarck; daughters, Vonnie Rosendahl of New Salem and Shereen (Tim) Schwagler of Mandan; three grandchildren, Jordan Rosendahl of Atlanta, GA, Colter Schwagler of Fargo and Ryder Schwagler of Mandan and two brothers, Ward (Phyllis) Rosendahl of Sioux City, IA and Myron (Judie) Rosendahl of Madison, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents, Helmer and Ethel Rosendahl and and one grandson, Seth Rosendahl.
