A funeral Mass for Frances Fichter, 78, of New England, ND will be 9:00 a. m. , Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in New England with Father Biju Chitteth celebrating. Burial will take place in North Dakota Veteran’s Cemetery, Mandan. Visitation for Frances will be from 5:00 p. m. to 8:00 p. m. , Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at Stevenson Funeral Home in Dickinson with a rosary and vigil service being held at 7:00 p. m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at St. Mary’s Church. Frances passed away Friday, August 21, 2015 at CHI St. Alexius Health in Bismarck. Frances was born February 8, 1937 in rural Dickinson, the daughter of Joseph and Victoria (Kostelecky) Krehlik. Growing up, she attended and graduated in a one room country school in Ash Coulee. She later attended Dickinson State College and received her teaching degree. Frances married Joseph Fichter on August 25, 1958 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Dickinson. The couple was blessed with four children, Wanda, Jonelle, Mary and Allen. Frances taught in country schools in the New England area in the 60’s. She then became the bookkeeper for Joe’s Standard Service Station in New England, which Frances and Joe had purchased. They later bought the laundromat and the J & F Motel. They continued to own and operate the businesses until the early 1980’s. Frances enjoyed crocheting, gardening, camping and fishing, traveling, spending time with her family and coffee with her friends. Frances will be dearly missed. Frances is survived by her children, Wanda Ott, Jonelle (Brian) Cavallero, Mary Roberts, and Allen (Lisa) Fichter; seven grandchildren, Cody Ott, Kristy Red Elk, Nancy Cavallero, Leonard Cavallero, Bryce, Brady, and Cole Fichter; four great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Aggie Krehlik. She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Victoria; husband, Joseph (2007); siblings, Joseph Krehlik, Sylvia (Joe) Pavlicek, Martha Krehlik, Adolph Krehlik, Robert Krehlik, Aloysius Krehlik, Henry Krehlik, Victoria Krehlik, Helen Krehlik, Victor Krehlik; and sister-in-law, Stephanie Krehlik.
