With her loving family at her side, Frances went to her glorious home on Wednesday, June 20, 2018.

Frances was born in rural Belfield on September 27, 1929, the fourth of eight children born to Anton and Rosie (Sadowsky) Volesky.  She grew up on the family farm and graduated from eighth grade in 1942 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic School in New Hradec.  Frances met her future husband, Richard Marsh, at a dance. Their relationship blossomed until the two became one on July 24, 1950 in Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church of New Hradec.  Together, Frances and Richard raised seven children, Rosella, Ramona, Cynthia, Sandra, Dean, Duane and Rick on the farm.  Their faith and their love was a blessing beautifully instilled in their children.  Frances was a hard-working farmwife, a generous caregiver for her family and friends, a faithful soul, a visitor with an unforgettable memory, and a huggable grandma.  She and Richard were dairy farmers for many years before retiring in 1981 and moving into Dickinson.  She became a home caretaker, cleaning homes for others, and she was an amazing seamstress and shared her talent while working for Excel Cleaners. Sewing was her love and her passion.  No one could fix a pair of wore-out jeans like Frances.  She was proud to have created quilts/blankets, dishtowels/cloths, pot holders, Christmas stockings, table runners, afghans and even doll clothes for all of her family (many treasured forever in closets and drawers unused).  Frances was a great cook, ‘always’ having a pan of some yummy bars on the counter in case someone stopped in. Many of her recipes will live on in the kitchens of her family.  Frances and Richard enjoyed helping raise their grandchildren, instilling love, life lessons, and fun into their next generation.  Their strong faith was a prayerful example and influence, with a rosary being recited nightly.  Frances enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, gardening, crocheting, cross-stitch, a good game of cards and nothing meant more to her than visits from her family and the little ones.  She will be forever loved and dearly missed.  Frances was a member of the Good Neighbors Homemakers Club for 64 years, organizer of a cancer drive, a member of the Rosary Society at Sts. Peter and Paul Parish, served as a member of the Liturgy Committee at St. Wenceslaus Parish, member of Queen of Peace, KD Catholic Workman and her family was honored as KC Family of the Year.

Frances is survived by her daughters, Rosie (Jim) Perdaems of South Heart, Mona (Deacon Dallas) Carlson of Dickinson, Cindy (Ken) Kuylen of Sturgis, SD, and Sandy (Larry) Pavlish of Glendale, AZ; sons, Dean (Bev) of Horace, ND, and Rick (Sheryl) of Dickinson; daughter-in-law, Doris Marsh of South Heart; sisters, Rose Marie Kovash of Dickinson, Betty Kudrna of Minot, ND; brothers, Robert (Tillie) Volesky, Florian (Gladys) Volesky all of Dickinson; sister-in-law, Evelyn Volesky of Bismarck; 20 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Anton and Rosie Volesky; husband, Richard (2010); son, Duane Marsh (2014); grandson, Ryan Pavlish (2014); brothers, Raymond Volesky, Ben Volesky, and infant-Joseph Volesky; sisters, Mary (Laudie) Karsky and Elsie (Frank) Steffan; brothers-in-law, Don Kovash, and Don Kudrna; and sister-in-law, Loretta Volesky.
