A Funeral Mass for Frank V. Buresh, 95, of Dickinson, will be 1:00 p. m. , Friday, September 25, 2015 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church with Msgr. Patrick Schumacher celebrating. Burial will follow in St. Wenceslaus Cemetery. Visitation for Frank will be from 3:00 p. m. to 8:00 p. m. , Thursday, September 24th at Stevenson Funeral Home with a rosary and vigil service being held at 7:00 p. m. Frank passed away Sunday, September 20, 2015 at St. Luke’s Home in Dickinson. Frank Vincent was born August 6, 1920 in Dickinson, the son of Frank and Barbara (Marsh) Buresh. He was the fourth of eight siblings brought up on a farm northeast of Belfield. Frank attended Sts. Peter and Paul School in New Hradec. He was proud of graduating and not having missed one day of school through his eight years. As a young adult, he farmed with his parents. On June 1, 1943, Frank married Josephine Sadowsky and together they continued to farm with his parents for seven years. In 1950, they moved to a farm six miles north of New Hradec. The couple was blessed with six children, Lorraine, Elaine, Ronald, Conrad, Kevin and Frank. He enjoyed farming for 19 years before he moved to Dickinson in 1969. Frank was employed by the Dickinson School District as a custodian and a mail carrier for four years before he began his own construction business. He built homes in Dickinson for eleven years before retiring. Josie and Frank were married 47 years. After her passing, Frank married Catherine Kostelecky on November 21, 1990. She later passed in 2008. Faith was important and meant a lot to Frank. He never missed Mass on Sunday and he prayed the rosary daily (sometimes 2 or 3 times). He was active in the community as a member of the school board for Willmen School District, member of Eagles, Knights of Columbus, Catholic Workmen of New Hradec, served as an usher and reader at St. Wenceslaus Church and served on the Rural Telephone Committee. Frank enjoyed fishing, playing cards, bingo, traveling, visiting and an occasional trip to the casino. He was especially fond of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Frank will be missed. Frank is survived by his children, Lorraine (Richard) Erickson, Killdeer, ND, Ronald (Sharon) Buresh, Elaine (Gary) Bullinger, Frank Jr. (Karen) Buresh, all of Dickinson, ND, Conrad (Melodee) Buresh, Sioux Falls, SD, and Kevin (Nancy) Buresh, Ogden UT; 13 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter; Catherine’s extended family; siblings, Emma (Willard) Jaeger, Clara (Robert) Volesky, and Rose (Henry) Sadowsky; sister-in-law, Gertrude Buresh and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Barbara Buresh; wives, Josephine and Catherine; and siblings, Victoria (Laudie) Pirkl, William (Genevieve) Buresh, Anton Buresh, and Cecilia Black.
