Frank passed away April 11, 2020 at St. Alexius Hospital, Bismarck, ND.

Frank was born on January 20, 1934 in Dickinson to Frank J. Karsky and Emma (Marsh) Karsky. He grew up on the farm in Dunn County, he attended rural school, St. Peter and Paul Catholic School in New Hradec, ND, St. Procopius Academy in Lisle, Ill., and graduated from Dickinson High School in 1951.

On September 9, 1953 he married Lorraine Kadrmas at St. Wenceslaus Church in Dickinson. The couple was blessed with three children, Jayleen, Jeril Lynn, and Jared. They lived in Dickinson until 1956 when they purchased their farm West of New Hradec and farmed and ranched raising Charolais cattle until they retired in 2008. Frank loved farming and took great pride in his family.

Frank was very involved in the community. He was a board member of South Heart Farmers Union Elevator, Southwest Grain Elevators, Dunn County Social Services, Dunn County FHA, Dunn County Soil Conservation Board, a Dunn County Commissioner, SBD Rural Water, and Southwest Rural Water Board. He served as Grand Knight of Knights of Columbus Council 1515, Knights of Columbus District Deputy, and he also served as Knights of Columbus State Squires Chairman of which he received a National Service Citation from the Supreme Knight in the Fraternal year 1984-1985. He also was a member of the Knights of Columbus Fourth Degree Assembly 790, and also New Hradec Knights of Columbus member. He was also a member of the Catholic Workman Fraternal Organization, New Hradec, ND. He was a member of the South Heart Fire Department for many years.

He was a member of Queen of Peace Church, Elks, Eagles, St. Anthony Club. He enjoyed playing cards, dancing, bowling, fishing, and going on trips. He was very proud of his hole-in-one in the Knights of Columbus Golf Tournament.

Frank is survived by his children, Jayleen (Gary) Kessel of Belfield, Jeril (Jeff) Kessel of Newell, SD, and Jared of Rapid City, SD; grandchildren Justin (Marcie) Kessel of Denver, CO, Jenilee (Josh) Lewis of Spearfish, SD; great grandchildren, Madeline Kessel, Alexandra Kessel, Aubrie Asarch, and Hudson Lewis; brother, Edward (Gina) Karsky of Dickinson, sister Tillie Volesky of Dickinson, and sister-in-law’s Margie Karsky, Clinton, MN, and Hazel Karsky, Cheifland, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife Lorraine (2009); grandson Jeremy Kessel; brothers, Laudie (Mary), Otto, Ludwig (Martha), Albert Karsky, and sister Elsie (Albert) Sadowsky, and brother-in-law Robert Volesky.
