Frank Kubik

Funeral service for Frank Kubik, 100, of Dickinson will be 10:30 Monday, October 30, 2017 at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Dickinson with Pastors Lisa Lewton and Joe Natwick officiating. Burial will follow in the family plot at Dickinson Cemetery.


Visitation for Frank will take place one hour prior to the service at the church.


Frank passed away Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at St. Luke’s Home, Dickinson, ND.


Frank Kubik was born on a farm/ranch near Dickinson, ND on June 8, 1917, to Frank Sr. and Anna (Kralicek) Kubik. The family lived on the farm homesteaded by his grandfather who immigrated from Czechoslovakia.


Frank attended rural school in Dunn County and graduated from Dickinson’s Model High School in 1937. He received a standard teaching certificate from Dickinson State teacher’s College and taught school in Slope and Dunn Counties for two years during the Depression.


On September 22, 1939, Frank married Doris Zander of Dickinson and to this union four children were born.


Frank and Doris made their home on a ranch six miles northwest of Manning that became the Kubik Polled Hereford Ranch. He and Doris retired to Dickinson where they made their home ever since.


He is survived by: son, Jeff (Nancy) Kubik, Dickinson; daughter, Jane (Les) Schneider, Manning; son-in-law, Dave Larson; and six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris; two daughters, Karen Larson, Joy Annette Kubik (died in infancy); his parents; his brothers, John Kubik, George Kubik, Gabriel Kubik; and sister, Alice Westrum.


In lieu of flowers the family suggests a memorial be made to the charity of your choice.
