Graveside services for Frank Mraz, 89, of Alzada will be 1:00 p.m., Monday April 10, 2017 at Alzada Cemetery, Alzada, MT with Pastor Julie Long officiating.
Frank passed away on Friday, January 13, 2017 in Belle Fourche, SD.
Frank Donald Mraz, Jr. was born on September 12th, 1928 in Ziebach County to Frank and Ella Mraz. He was the ninth child of 12 children. He attended the Main School, north of Dupree for eight years. He then went to work for his parents. In 1955, he and his brother, Norman, purchased a ranch known as the Ford Place north of Dupree, until the early 1970’s. Frank then began working for various ranches in Montana and South Dakota. Eventually he bought a small parcel of land near Alzada, Montana where he raised a small flock of sheep. In 2006, Frank retired from ranching and moved to Belle Fourche, SD. Hobbies included reading and keeping track of rodeo events. He particularly liked the rough stock events. He was a good stockman and was fond of raising sheep. Frank was known to take the time to share his knowledge with young people who expressed an interest in his flock.
Frank is survived by several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Ella; eight brothers; and three sisters.
