Funeral Services for Frank ?Slugger? Oltmanns, 68, of Dickinson are 11:00 a. m. Saturday, October 23, 2004 at Stevenson-Mischel-Olson Chapel in Dickinson with Father Jeff Zwack celebrating. Burial will take place at a later date at Franklin Cemetery near Madison, SD. Visitation will be Friday October 22, 2004 from 9:00 a. m. to 9:00 p. m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p. m. at Stevenson-Mischel-Olson Chapel. Frank passed away Monday, October 18, 2004 at St. Joseph?s Hospital in Dickinson. He was born August 16, 1936 at Madison, SD the son of Herman A. and Evelyn N. Rook Oltmanns. He attended school in Madison until May of 1952 when he moved to Belvidere, SD. He attended school there, graduating second in his class in 1954. He then attended college at Black Hills State and Dakota State. On November 4, 1956, he was married to Joanne O?Dea at Quinn, SD. Frank always had a passion for operating heavy equipment and through the years it took the family to many states throughout the Midwest. Frank worked in the Shirley Basin Mine for thirteen years as foreman while living in Medicine Bow, WY. In 1997, he retired and they moved to Dickinson where they had made their home since. He was the past president of the Medicine Bow, WY Lions Club. Frank liked old time movies, keeping up with the Denver Broncos, and playing cards ? especially playing poker with his sons. He loved and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Joanne of Dickinson; five sons: Kenneth (Shirley) Oltmanns of Tooele, UT, Keith (Shelly) Oltmanns of Elko, NV, Kevin (Susan) Oltmanns of Sheridan, WY, Kurt Oltmanns of Las Vegas, NV and Klayton (Melanie) Oltmanns of Dickinson; thirteen grandchildren: Rachel, Katy, April, Kristopher, Kassidy, Arthur, Matt, Kimberley, Kyle, Whitney, Jami, Austin & Alyssa; and two great-grandchildren, Ernie & Keely. In lieu of flowers or gifts, donations to the Queen of Peace Church in memory of Frank, would be most appreciated. He was preceded in death by his parents
