Funeral Mass for Frank F. Roller, 94 of Dickinson will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 14, 2006 at St. Mary?s Catholic Church in New England with Father Basil Atwell, celebrating. Burial will follow in St. Mary?s Cemetery in New England. Visitation will be Monday, June 12, 2006 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. continuing on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary and Vigil Service led by Deacon Gene Morman at 7:00 p.m. at Stevenson-Mischel-Olson Chapel in Dickinson. Wednesday visitation will be one hour prior to service at the church. Frank passed away Saturday, June 10, 2006 at St. Luke?s Home in Dickinson. Frank was born January 16, 1912 in New England, the son of Peter and Anna (Markel) Roller. He was one of eleven children, who have all passed away. Frank attended school at St. Pius, Scheffield, ND until the 8th grade and then helped his father on the farm. On October 26, 1937 he was married to Cecilia Friedt at St. Placidus Church at rural Mott, ND. They lived on a farm west of New England from 1940 until 1974. At that time, they moved into New England where they both were very active in church and Senior Citizens. Frank was in the church choir for many years, was a Eucharistic Minister both in New England and Evergreen Retirement Home while they lived there. He led the Rosary at St. Mary?s in New England for over 40 years and continued to lead Rosary at Evergreen and St. Luke?s. He was Curator of the St. Mary?s Cemetery in New England for many years and also sang with the RSVP singers in Dickinson. While on the farm, he was a Township Assessor for quite a few years. Frank was very involved in the family getting a good Catholic education. He enjoyed the sporting activities of his sons and before buses were used, he drove his personal vehicle to transport teams and fans to out of town games. Survivors include a daughter, Mary Privratsky, Dickinson, ND; six sons: James (Betty) Roller, Eugene, OR, Thomas (Jan) Roller, Montgomery, AL, Victor Roller, Dickinson, ND, David (Deb) Roller, Gilbert, AZ, Ronald (Char) Roller, Beloit, WI, and Benedict ( Diane) Roller, Bismarck, ND; two former daughter-in-laws, Kathleen Walsh, Larimore, ND and Joellen Roller, Bismarck, ND; two sister-in-laws, Minnie Roller, Dickinson, ND and Elsie Roller, Oregon; 26 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Cecilia; two sons, Albert and Joseph Roller; one granddaughter, Betsy Roller; five grandsons: Mark, Peter, Joseph and Calvin Privratsky and Davey Roller; two son-in-laws and all his brothers and sisters: Leo Roller, Vincent Roller, Regina (Roller) Parks Nichols, Frank Roller, Monica (Roller) Fichter, Pius Roller, Lawrence Roller, Otillia “Tillie” (Roller) Jirges, Emma Roller, Philomena (Roller) Flavin and Mike Roller.
