Funeral Mass for Frank J. Schwindt, 90, of Dickinson will be 10 a. m. Friday, September 21, 2007 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Dickinson with Father Dennis Schafer celebrating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery, Dickinson. Visitation will be 9 a. m. to 9 p. m. Thursday, September 20, 2007 at Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson. Rosary will be 7 p. m. Thursday September 20, 2007 at Stevenson Funeral Home. Frank passed away Sunday, September 16, 2007 at St. Benedict?s Health Center in Dickinson. Frank was born June 5, 1917, the son of Frank and Barbara (Fischer) Schwindt on the family farm in rural New Hradec. He attended country school and helped with the farm chores while being raised with his 11 older siblings. On October 12, 1938 Frank married Rose A. Kuntz at St. Joseph?s Catholic Church in Dickinson and they moved to California where he worked on a dairy farm. The couple moved to Oregon for awhile before moving home to Richardton/Taylor, ND where they owned and operated a bar. Frank worked as a plumber for most of his life. The couple later retired to Dickinson but Frank still found time to plumb. Rose passed away in 1994 and Frank remarried Margaret (Schaff) Zent. Frank and Margaret moved to Spokane, WA where they made their home for 10 years. After Margaret passed away in 2006 Frank lived with his nephew in Sidney, MT before returning to Dickinson where he made his home at St. Benedict?s Health Center. Frank liked gardening, playing cards and listening to Old Time music. He also played the accordion and organ. Frank was a Golden Eagle at the Eagles Club in Dickinson. Frank is survived by his brother Steve( Bridget) Schwindt of Dickinson; his four brothers-in-law, Leo (Betty) Kuntz; Frank (Caroline) Kuntz; George Kuntz; Pete (Mary) Kuntz; four sisters-in-law: Christine Frenzel; Pauline Decker; Betty Heidt and Monica Kuntz; three step-children, Mike Zent, Rick Zent, Cathy Kelly and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by: both of his parents; both wives: Rose and Margaret; six brothers: Pete, Leonard, John, Andrew, Joe and Rasmus Schwindt; four sisters: Rose Reiter; Sister (Anna) Hildegard O. S. B. ; Katherine Braun and Sister (Genevieve) Helen O. S. B. ; seven in-laws John Kuntz, Jack Kuntz, Tony Decker, Harry Heidt, Fred Frenzel, Mary Kuntz and Gladys Kuntz.
