Funeral Service for Frank V. Sickler, 85 of Manning, will be 10:00 a. m. ,Tuesday, October 2, 2007 at Stevenson Funeral Home with Father Carl Sulzen, celebrating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph?s Catholic Cemetery, Dickinson. Visitation will be Monday, October 1, 2007 from 9:00 a. m. to 9:00 p. m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p. m. at Stevenson funeral Home. Frank passed away Friday, September 28, 2007 at Hill Top Home of Comfort in Killdeer, ND. Frank was born December 18, 1921 on the family homestead in Dunn County, the son of Valentine and Elizabeth Sickler. He was educated in Dunn County. Frank enlisted in the US Navy and served during WWII. He was honorably discharged and returned to the Gladstone area. On May 14, 1946, Frank was married to Rosalie Haich at Gladstone, ND. Their marriage was blessed with six boys and six girls. Frank farmed and ranched on the Sickler homestead, southeast of Manning in Dunn County. Frank?s Catholic faith was most important to him; he set a good example all his life with his faith, honesty and work ethic. He led the rosary at Hill Top Home for many years. Frank raised Polled Herefords and had annual bull sales for 14 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Rural Fire Department, North Dakota Polled Hereford Association and served on the school board. Frank is survived by eleven children: Charlotte (Joe) Heiser, Minot, ND; Kenneth (Linda) Sickler, Aurora, CO; Richard Sickler, Manning, ND; Lorri (Bill) Lengenfelder, Bismarck, ND; Marvin (Charlene) Sickler, Burney, CA; Bonnie (Dave) Zeiszler, Bismarck, ND; Marilyn (Matt) Haag, St. Mary?s, KS; Francis (Bonnie) Sickler, Duluth, MN; Eugene (Mary) Sickler, Manning, ND; Nancy (Bill) Watz, Rathdrum, ID; and Greg (Juli) Sickler, Bismarck, ND; one son-in-law, Mark Muscha, Manning, ND; two brothers: Albert (Dorothy) Sickler, Dickinson, ND and Fred (Gladys) Sickler, Edmonds, WA; three sisters: Elizabeth Brost, Dickinson, ND; Theresa Kacalek, Woodburn, OR and Josephine (Ed) Mack, Spokane, WA; 58 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Rose, a daughter, Connie Muscha; three sisters and three brothers. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given for Gregorian Masses, payable to: Sickler Family Fund, 14840 West Stub Ave. , Rathdrum, ID 83858 or they may be left at the funeral home. The Sickler family would like to thank all of Frank?s Care Givers at the Hill Top Home for the extra special care he received while there.
