Funeral Services for Fredric L. ?Buddy? Votruba, 88, of Baker, MT will be at 11:00 a. m. Thursday, January 3, 2007 in the Chapel of Stevenson Funeral in Baker with Pastor Mark Arnold officiating. Interment will follow in the family lot in Bonnievale Cemetery at Baker, MT. Visitation will be 1:00 p. m. to 8:00 p. m. Wednesday, January 2, 2007 at Stevenson Funeral Home. Buddy passed away on Sunday, December 30, 2007 at Fallon Medical Complex in Baker, MT. Fredric Lloyd ?Buddy? Votruba was born on September 2, 1919 a son of Joseph Sr. and Anna (Lamplot) Votruba at the family ranch in the Fertile Prairie Community east of Baker, MT. Buddy as he was known by his family and friends grew up on the ranch and attended school at Fertile Prairie. Buddy and his brother, Joe worked a partnership as they took over the Votruba ranch and farm. The two brothers farmed and raised cattle and horses. Eventually Buddy took over the operation. Buddy had a passion for good Quarter horses, and enjoyed race horses. In the mid 1970?s, Buddy moved into Baker, where he made his home. Buddy was a quite and very private man, but could often be found helping his family and friends at branding time. Buddy loved to play cards, and could be found in a good card game daily!As his health started to fail, Buddy was forced into retirement, and in 2001 he entered Fallon Medical Complex Nursing Home where he lived until his death. Buddy is survived by his sister, Eleanor (Hubertus) Halmans, Baker, MT and numerous Nieces, Nephews, Great Nieces and Great Nephews. His parents, Joseph and Anna, his brother, Joe, his sisters, Mildred Braun and Helen Loutzenhiser preceded him in death. Arrangements are under the direction of Stevenson Funeral of Baker, MT.
