A funeral service for Freida Opp, 87, of Glen Ullin will be 2:00 p.m. CT, Friday, May 11, 2018 at St. John Church, Hebron with Pastor Gaylund Olson officiating. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery.
Visitation for Freida will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. CT, Thursday, May 10 at St. John Church with a prayer service being held at 7:00 p.m. CT. Visitation will continue on Friday, one hour prior to the service at the church.
Freida passed away Sunday, May 6, 2018 at Marian Manor in Glen Ullin.
Freida (Schneider) Opp was born on August 31, 1930 to John and Paulina (Dorrheim) Schneider in Stark County. She was raised and educated in Hebron. Freida helped on the family farm and in the fall she taught rural school in Grant County. She married Jacob A. Opp on September 16, 1952 at First Baptist Church in Hebron, ND. They farmed north of Glen Ullin. Freida stayed on the farm with her son, Gary, after Jacob passed away in November 12, 2004. She remained on the farm until March 2015 when she moved into Marion Manor.
Freida was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ in Hebron. She liked spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Freida is survived by her children, Gary (Janel) of Glen Ullin, Sandra (Michael) Krous of Bismarck, and Larry (Joelene) of Hannover; Grandchildren, Jeremy Krous of Bismarck, Michelle (Michael) Kuntz of Solen, Justin Krous of Seattle, WA, Anne (Joel) Gartner of Glen Ullin, Carl Schneider and Holly Benson of Moorhead, MN, Amy Jo Burkart of Arlington, TX, Ben (Jill) Bohrer of Hazen, Becky (Klaus) Stolpe, Juneau, AK, Shelly (Jesse) Tran, Minneapolis, MN, Sarah Bohrer, Hannover, and Brett (Veronica) Bohrer, Bismarck; Great-Grandchildren, Michaela Kuntz, Miranda Kuntz, and Montgomery Kuntz, all of Solen; honorary great-grandchildren, Aiden and Natalie White; siblings, Edwin Schneider of Bismarck, Bennie Schneider of Richardton, and Herman Schneider of Mandan; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Freida was preceded in death by her husband, Jacob of 53 years; her parents, John and Paulina; and sisters, Ida Heinle and Louise Hirning.
