Memorial Mass for Gail Marie Baum, 67 of Townsend, MT, formerly of Marmarth, ND will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 18, 2006 at St. Mary?s Catholic Church in Marmarth, ND with Father David Morman, celebrating. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery in Marmarth, ND Gail passed away January 22, 2006 in Salt Lake City, UT. She was born November 29, 1938 in Marmarth, the daughter of A.W. ?Babe? and Joy (Crow) Graham. She grew up in Marmarth, attending schools there and later in Baker, MT. She began her work life early in the hospitality industry where she enjoyed interacting with people. Her young family grew quickly to include five children. In subsequent years the family welcomed two more children. Gail’s working years included many different occupations ranging from HVAC technician to motel management. For most of her life Gail called the Dakotas home. She experienced the beauty of Yellowstone and the Rocky Mountains for a few years and also spent a period of time enjoying the warmth of southern Arizona. Gail embraced changes which she dealt with head on. She was never intimidated at having to start over or make a new move. She treated everyone equally no matter their status expecting the same in return. Gail was a very hard worker pursuing life with zest and vigor regardless of what life handed her. She also loved spending time outdoors gardening. Survivors include children: Pat (Linda) McKeown, Townsend, MT, Alvin McKeown, Rhame, ND, Tony (Cheryl) McKeown, Bozeman, MT, Sharon Foss, Moorehead, MN, Joe (Helen) McKeown of Spearfish, SD, also children of Louis McKeown; Lisa (Gerry) Baker, Lead, SD, daughter of Lloyd McKeown; Marie (Ryan) Schoening, Rolla, ND, daughter of Charles Short; four sisters: Jayne Frisinger, Woodward, OK, Linda Zent and Julia Palmer both of Bismarck, ND, and Evelyn Austin, Miles City, MT; two brothers: Preston (Annette) Graham, Vernal, UT, and Ervin (Connie) Graham, Denver, CO: aunts Nurine “Tootisie” Hanson, Rhame, ND and Ramona Lowe, Blackfoot, ID; eighteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers: Jimmy, Max and Swede and a sister, Betty.
