A Funeral Mass for Gary J. Fritz, 67, of Hortonville, WI, formerly of Dickinson, will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 1, 2013 at St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church, Lefor, ND. Interment will follow in St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Cemetery.
Gary was born April 30, 1946 in Dickinson, ND to Nick and Josephine (Schiff) Fritz. He grew up on farms south of Dickinson. Gary married Donna (Keck) Fritz on May 6th 1967 in Lefor, and was presently living in Hortonville WI. He passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2013 as the result of a single vehicle roll-over accident in Wisconsin, enroute to a family reunion in Dickinson. His loving wife of 46 years Donna was present, and sustained non-life threatening injuries. He is survived by his wife Donna, two children Terry and Tami and their spouses Tammy and Jeff, three grandchildren Brendan, Andrew, and Britney, and eight brothers and sisters Nick, Kent, Jack, Beth, Laurie, Cindy, Margaret, and Carol. He was preceded in death by his parents and older sister Roberta. Gary was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather and friend. He treasured his time with his family and the outdoors, fishing and woodworking, riding his Harley, camping, and going to flea markets and antique shops. As an avid Green Bay Packers shareholder and fan, he had an opinion on each player and management decision. Gary enjoyed spending his time with Catholic Church activities and was an active 4th degree member in the Knights of Columbus as well as a volunteer at the local food pantry. An electrician by trade, he recently retired to concentrate his efforts on perfecting the ultimate devices for keeping the squirrels out of his many bird feeders and the woodpeckers out of the eaves. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in his name to your local Knights of Columbus chapter or food pantry. God bless you Gary – keep the PBR cold for the rest of us, and get the Pinochle deck ready.
