Funeral services for Gary C. Hecker, 52, of Belfield, ND will be 9:30 a. m. Saturday, November 24, 2007, at Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson with Father Jeff Zwack officiating. Burial will follow the service at the St. Joseph?s Cemetery, Dickinson. Visitation will be 12 noon to 9 p. m. Friday, November 23, 2007 at Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson with rosary service at 7 p. m. Visitation will continue on Saturday one hour prior to the service at the Stevenson Funeral Home. Gary passed away Sunday, November 18, 2007 at his home in Belfield, ND. Gary was born July 4, 1955 at St. Joseph?s Hospital, Dickinson to Charles and Caroline (Hegel) Hecker. He attended rural grade school for two years and then attended South Heart Public School. He spent most of his life farming and ranching on the family farm which created his love for horses. Gary also drove a semi tractor/trailer and was know for being a very hard working man. He married DeLona Smith in 1979 at the Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Dickinson. To this union, two sons were born Matthew and Jesse Hecker. Gary liked working with his hands, fixing cars, fishing and spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by: his sons, Matthew (Daphne) and Jesse (Ashley) Hecker all of Dickinson; one granddaughter, Ariel Hecker, Dickinson; his mother, Caroline Hecker, Dickinson; two brothers, Howard and Maurice Hecker both of rural Dickinson; two sisters, Coleen (Scott) Staloch, Bismarck, ND and Bonnie Hecker, rural Dickinson and two nephews, Daniel and Michael Humann of Bismarck. He is preceded in death by: father, Charles; grandparents, John and Caroline Hegel and Andrew and Margaret Hecker.
