Gary Marchant

Funeral Service for Gary Lynn Marchant, 47, of Dickinson will be 10 a. m. , Friday, May 8, 2009 at Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson. Visitation will be from 1 p. m. to 9 p. m. , Thursday, May 7, 2009 at Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson. Gary passed away May 4, 2009 at his home in Dickinson. Gary was born July 26, 1961 in Lodi, CA to Wilmer and Faith (Teutschmen) Marchant. He grew up and attended the Ray Road Elementary School and graduated from Lodi High School. He then attended San Joaquin Delta College majoring in music. In his younger years, he enjoyed riding and showing horses, especially ?Masha?. During his high school years, he played baseball and rode motorcycles and raced on the dirt tracks in California. Gary had a fondness for music, playing guitar and composing. In 1992 the family moved to Dickinson, ND where Gary worked as a chef at various restaurants. He was very artistic and enjoyed making both gothic and western jewelry, taking his pieces to area shows. The only thing Gary did not like was having his picture taken. He loved baseball and umpired in the Dickinson and Bismarck areas. He could be heard saying ?I enjoy the kids. ?He is survived by his parents, Roger and Faith Fink, Manning, ND; daughter, Jessica Faith Marchant, Dickinson, ND; brother, Larry Lee Giglitto, AK; aunts, Joyce Lipsett, Dickinson, ND and Diane (Burt) Power, Batesville, AR.
