Funeral services for Truman "Gary" Rusley, 74, of Baker, will be 11:00 am, Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at Stevenson Funeral Home, Baker. Burial will follow at Bonnievale Cemetery.
Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service.
Gary passed away February 8, 2022 at St Rose Care Center in LaMoure, ND.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the MT Red Angus Association (MTRAA) - 1721 Plevna Road, Plevna, MT 59344.
Truman Gary Rusley, 74, longtime rancher of the 101 Community passed away February 8, 2022, at St. Rose Care Center in Lamour, ND.
Gary was born July 28, 1947, to John Knute Rusley and Margaret J (DeGrand) Rusley in Miles City, Montana. Truman Gary was the second son born to this union. He joined his older brother Robert at the Rusley Ranch.
Gary would grow up on the ranch helping his dad with every part of the cattle, hay and grain operation. He attended Chimney Creek Country School and then went onto finish his schooling at Baker High School graduating with the class of 1965. Gary was baptized in the American Lutheran Church in Baker and accepted Jesus as his Savior at a young age.
Gary served his country in the United States Army for 5yrs and 8 months as a Private First Class, an infantry soldier/mortar man in Vietnam.Gary took over the ranch he grew up on in the 70’s and ranched all his life. Gary really loved raising his Red Angus Cattle. Gary was a man of very few words and worked hard his entire life. Gary was a member of the American Legion Post 35 in Baker from 2000-2005.
Gary is survived by his nephews Wayne (Sandy) Rusley, Phillip (Lori) Rusley, Dakota and Maryssa; niece Katrina (Jim) Johnson, Kirsten and Garrett.
Gary is preceded in death by his parents, John Knute and Margaret J (Peggy) Rusley; brother, Robert; sister-in-law, Wilma (Lacquement) Rusley.
