Mass of Christian Burial for Eugene P. ?Geno? Domagala, 68, of Baker, MT. will be at 11:00 a. m. on Tuesday, September 4, 2007 at St. John?s Catholic Church in Baker, with the Rev. Father Thomas Tobin celebrating. Interment will be at a later date in the family lot in Riverside Cemetery at Marmarth, ND. Military Rites will be provided by the Baker American Legion, Fallon Post #35. Visitation will be 12 noon to 9:00 p. m. on Monday, September 3, 2007 in the Chapel of Stevenson Funeral Home in Baker, with a Rosary and Vigil Service at 7:30 p. m. Geno passed away on Wednesday, August 29, 2007 at Fallon Medical Complex in Baker. Eugene Paul ?Geno? Domagala was born a son of John R. and Rosalie (Schell) Domagala on August 26, 1939 in Bowman, ND. Geno grew up in Bowman where he attended school, graduating from Bowman High School. While in high school, Geno excelled in track. He held the North Dakota High School Track record for the 100 yard dash until the record was broken in the early 1990?s. After graduation, Geno joined the United States Marine Corps, where he served until being honorably discharged. Geno retuned to Bowman and began working in the local Red Owl store. Soon after, Geno met the love of his life, Darlene E. Erickson of Rhame, ND. Geno and Darlene where married on July 8, 1961 at St. Charles Catholic Church in Bowman. To this union Michael, Mark and Mitch were born. In 1961, Geno began working at the Red Owl store in Baker. In 1963, the Domagala family relocated to Baker. Geno left the Red Owl store and went to work at the Super Value store. Eventually Geno and Darlene purchased the Super Valu store, operating it until 1979 when they sold it. Geno took a job with O?Connor Water Service as a truck driver, working in the oilfields around Baker. Due to an accident, Geno left the oil patch, and purchased the Cew & Brew in Baker, and renaming it ?Geno?s. ? In 1983, Geno opened Baker Meat Service; which is owned and operated by his son Mark and daughter-in-law Michelle. In 1985, Geno and Darlene repurchased the Super Value store renaming it ?DD?s Super Value. ? Due to declining health, Geno closed the grocery store in 1998, but continued to help Mark with Baker Meat Service. Geno was a member of the Knight?s of Columbus Council in Baker, St. John?s Catholic Church, the Baker Jaycees and the Baker Lion?s Club. Geno enjoyed traveling south to visit his son?s Michael and Mitch and spending time with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed bowling and fishing. Geno?s greatest love in life was for his wife and family. Geno is survived by his loving wife, Darlene Domagala, Baker, MT; three sons, Michael (Debbie) Domagala, Round Mountain, NV, Mark (Michele) Domagala, Baker, MT and Mitch (Elaine) Domagala, Battle Mountain, NV; two brothers, Lawrence (Doris) Domagala, Bowman, ND and Leland (Sandy) Domagala, Scranton, ND; two sisters, Evelene (John) Frovarp, Yuma, AZ and Betty Sosinski, Mitchell, SD and six grandchildren, Alicia Domagala, Chrissy Domagala, Alex Domagala, Matthew Domagala, Drue Domagala and Brice Gene Domagala. His parents, John and Rosalie Domagala, a brother, John Domagala, brother-in-law Arnie Erickson and special nephew, KJ Erickson preceded him in death. Arrangements are under the direction of Stevenson Funeral Home of Baker, MT.
