Gene Lecy

A Funeral service for Gene Lecy, 62, of Dickinson, will be 3:30 p.m. Monday, September 17, 2012 at Stevenson Funeral Home Chapel in Dickinson with Pastor Tim Voth officiating. Interment will be at Echo, MN.


Visitation for Gene will be Monday, from 1:00 p.m. to Service time at Stevenson Funeral Home.


Gene Lecy, 62, joined his Heavenly Father on September 14, 2012 at his home in Dickinson. Over the past few days, he was surrounded by many caring friends.


Gene was born December 31, 1949 in Minneapolis, MN to Roy and Audrey Lecy. He lived in MN for the first few years of his life. In September of 1951, Gene became ill with acute influenza meningitis, and by age 5 he moved to Grafton, ND. In 1991, Gene moved to Dickinson where he resided, receiving supports from ABLE, Inc. Gene’s greatest joys came from being with family and friends and enjoying the outdoors. He appreciated the kindness of others, along with sharing a good laugh with them. He enjoyed trips to MN to visit family or Rapid City, SD to appreciate the outdoors. Gene was a man who had a great sense of humor, a kind heart, and gentle soul.


Gene is survived by his three brothers, Roy Lecy, Edward Lecy, and Mark Lecy and one sister, Mary Lecy.


He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Richard.
