George Feryance

Funeral Service for George M. Feryance, 75, of Las Vegas, NV formerly of Baker, MT will be at 2:00 p. m. on Thursday, November 20, 2008 in the Chapel of Stevenson Funeral Home in Baker with Pastor Sheldon Sorenson officiating. Interment will follow in the Feryance lot in Bonnievale Cemetery at Baker, MT. Visitation will be 9:00 a. m. to 9:00 p. m. on Wednesday, November 19th and continue from 9:00 a. m. until the time of service on Thursday, at Stevenson Funeral Home. George passed away on Monday, November 10, 2008 at the Desert Springs Hospital in Las Vegas, NV. George Martin Feryance was born a son of Steve and Gladys (Class) Feryance on March 20, 1933 at Govert, SD. As a young man, George worked on various farms and ranches in the Hettinger, ND area. In 1954, George moved to Tioga, ND where he went to work for Lawrence Transportation where he hauled drillings rigs and other oil field equipment in North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana and Wyoming. In 1955, George met and married Doreen Olson of Ray, ND. To this union Donald and Duane were born. George and Doreen later divorced. While working in the Baker area, George met an old acquaintance from his childhood days, LaDonna (Kroft) Egland. After a courtship the two were married in 1964. To this union Michael was born. George and Donna made their home in Glendive, MT before moving to Baker where they made their home. After moving to Baker, George took a job with Rock Island, which later became Koch Services, hauling crude oil until his retirement in the early 1990?sGeorge enjoyed his neighbors and his coffee buddies. In his spare time, George could be found hunting with a friend or two and one of his dogs while driving his classic Land Rover. George?s greatest love in life was for his wife, Donna. After Donna?s death in 2005, George continued to make Baker his home until his health started to fail. In 2006, George?s long time friend, work partner and nephew, Darrell Glass moved George to Las Vegas. George is survived by his sons, Donald W. (Dana) Feryance and their children, and Duane S. Feryance, both of Woodland, CA; a stepson, Kevin (Charlotte) Egland and his daughter, Sharell, of Baker, MT; a special nephew, Darrell Glass of Henderson, NV; and numerous nieces and nephews. George was preceded in death by his parents, Steve and Gladys Feryance, his wife, Donna Feryance and his infant son, Michael Lee Feryance. Arrangements are under the care of Stevenson Funeral Home of Baker, MT.
