George Gathright

George E. Gathright, 78 of Hebron, died Friday, January 25, 2008 at the Richardton Health Center in Richardton. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, January 28, 2007 at 10:00 am Central Time at the St. Ann?s Catholic Church in Hebron. Visitation will begin on Sunday after 4:00 pm at St. Ann?s with Vigil services at 7:00 PM. Burial will be in the St. Ann Cemetery in Hebron. George E. Gathright was born May 17, 1929 in Taylor, ND, the son of Edward and Rose (Schutzman) Gathright. He was raised at Taylor and graduated from Taylor School. George worked as a land surveyor and then became a licensed electrician. He wired a number of farmsteads in Grant and Sioux counties. George married Eleanor Rebel February 1, 1951 at Taylor. George accepted a position with Chemtron in Fargo, this position kept George and the family on the move to many cities; he ended up staying in Savannah, GA for the last 18 years of his career. In his spare time, George loved to go fishing and gardening. When he retired in 1995 he returned to North Dakota, and settled in Hebron. He was a member of St. Ann?s Parish, and a past member of the Knights of Columbus. George leaves his wife of 56 years, Eleanor, Hebron, ND and one son: George V. Gathright and his wife Christine, of Elgin, ND; one granddaughter: Danielle, and three step grandchildren Devin, Damian, and Dylan. He is also leaves one brother: Larry Gathright, Eugene, OR. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters: Ada and Sarah, and one brother Allen.
