Funeral Mass for George A. Keller, 90, of Dickinson, will be 10:00 a. m. , Monday, May 9, 2011 at St. Joseph?s Catholic Church, Dickinson, with Father Keith Streifel and Father Todd Kreitinger con-celebrating. Burial will be in St. Joseph?s Cemetery, Dickinson. Visitation for George will be from 12:00 p. m. to 9:00 p. m. , Sunday, May 8, 2011 at Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson with a Rosary and Vigil Service taking place at 4:00 p. m. George passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at St. Benedicts Health Center in Dickinson. George Adam Keller was born May 4, 1921 in Amidon, ND, the son of John and Josephine (Koffler) Keller. He moved with his family to Dickinson where he attended school at St. Joseph?s Catholic School. After finishing school, George worked for the CCC. On August 29, 1941, George married Dorothy Barta at St. Joseph?s Catholic Church in Dickinson. George served in the United States Army from 1942-1945. After being honorably discharged, the family moved to Michigan for three years. They returned to Dickinson where they raised their family and have made their home ever since. George worked for Northern Pacific/Burlington Northern Railroad as a Baggageman, Night Clerk, and Crew Hauler, for over 38 years. After retiring on April 15, 1983, George kept busy as rosary leader for St. Anthony Club and St. Joseph?s Catholic Church as well as led the rosary at countless Vigil Services. George faithfully took care of his wife Dorothy during her 14 years of illness. He will be remembered for his bright smile and the twinkle in his eye that preceded one of his special jokes. George was a lifetime member of the VFW, German Hungarian Lodge, St. Anthony Club, St. Pius Verein, American Legion, Board of Directors of Amen Food Pantry and volunteered on numerous occasions. He was a 3rd Degree Knight for Knights of Columbus Council #6308. He was also an Honorary Member of the World War II Honor Flight. George was very fond of his beloved Boston Terrier, Buster, and his Hardees Coffee Group. The Trinity Titans have lost a loyal fan. George is survived by four sons, Maynard (Linda), Kenneth (LaVonne), Ron (Edna) and Darin (Nancee); one brother, Theodore (Joyce); one sister Anna Marie (Leonard) Ries; 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy; his parents, John and Josephine Keller and three brothers, Pete, Edward and Albert. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Dickinson Catholic Schools.
