George was born on February 23, 1930, the son of Moritz and Susie (Parish) Kittelmann at Ekalaka, Montana. He grew up and attended country schools in Carter County and later Ekalaka High School. He worked on various ranches in eastern Montana before marrying Vernalea Brown on January 27, 1949 in Ekalaka. Together, they ranched and raised their family. They have lived in Carter County all of their lives. Along with ranching, George worked on a mobile pellet mill, which he later purchased. He operated it for the next 30 plus years around eastern Montana, western North Dakota and South Dakota. He made many friends traveling with the mill and countless stories were told when he returned home. Over the years George enjoyed team roping, running race horses, going to coffee and always making time for a hand of pinochle. George was never a bashful man. He could talk the talk and walk the walk for any event that was good for the community or county. He was the first one to volunteer and give a hand to anyone or club. George was a member of the Ekalaka Bible church, life time member of the Ekalaka Track and Arena which he served as a director for many years, served as a director on the Montana High School Rodeo Association, member of the Ekalaka Lodge #120 AF & AM, Al Bedoo Temple, Scottish Rite and the Sorrel Horse Patrol of Ekalaka. In later years, George enjoyed taking his grandchildren out hunting and following them around to all of their sports events. He loved each and everyone and always made time to find out what they had been up to. George also like to go salmon fishing as well as fishing the local reservoirs.
