Funeral mass for Georgia Kadrmas, 86, Dickinson, ND will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 9, 2021 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in New Hradec. Father Chris Kadrmas will celebrate the mass.
A Rosary and Vigil service will be held 7:00 p.m. Thursday, July 8 at Stevenson Funeral Home. Visitation will be 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. prior to the Rosary.
Georgia died Thursday, November 19, 2020 in a Minot hospital.
Georgia Kadrmas was born March 25, 1934 in New Hradec, ND, the daughter of Louis W. and Mary (Kovash) Kostelecky. Georgia attended school at St. Peter and Paul Catholic School in New Hradec, ND through the eighth grade.
Georgie was united in marriage to her best friend and forever love, Raymond R. Kadrmas on January 12, 1953 at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in New Hradec, ND. To this union they had eight children, Renee’, Connie, Cheryl, Jolyn, Kevin, Mary, Keith, and Susette. Moving often in the first years of marriage, Ray and Georgia finally settled in New Hradec, N.D. & started up a Blacksmith shop, later moving the shop to Killdeer, N.D. where the family lived for 20 years. During this time, Ray & Georgia added the Lariat Liquor Store adjacent to the blacksmith shop. It should be noted that Georgia acquired a knack for dancing the polka and many of her family & friends wanted to dance with her other than her husband at social gatherings that they attended.
Georgie worked for Dunn County Social Services from 1983-1986 and later for Stark County Social Services In 1989-1999 as a Home Health Care Specialist for a total of 13 years. Georgia was a very hard worker and was always cooking for an army of a family. In 1986, Ray and Georgie built their first brand new home together on the Kadrmas’ Spring Valley homestead north of Dickinson in Dunn County.
Georgia is survived by her husband Raymond, daughters Renee’ (Leonard) Hysell of Mountain View, WY., Connie (Steve) Hartman of Medora, ND., Cheryl (Gary) Kohler, Jolyn Bliss, Mary (Dave) Ell, Susette (Keith) Ridl all of Dickinson, ND., and son, Keith (LeAnn) Kadrmas of Minot, ND., thirteen grandchildren (Joshua Tysver, Jeremy Tysver, Billie Ell, Michael Kohler, Shawn Ell, Jonathan Tysver, Rachelle (Bliss) Klein, Nolan Kadrmas, Andrea (Bliss) Schiff, Kaitlin (Ridl) Morales, Dylan Ridl, Zachary Kadrmas, & Halle Kadrmas, and eleven great-grandchildren, sisters Martha Kuylen of South Heart, ND., and Betty Spaulding of Minot, ND., one sister-in-law, Martha Kostelecky of Dickinson, ND, and one brother-in-law Wencel (Jim) Splichal of Dickinson.
She is preceded in death by her parents, a son, Kevin, son-in-law, Lyle Bliss, brothers, Charles, Laudie (Jim), and William Kostelecky, sisters, Mary Splichal, Mildred Ficek, Edith Kadrmas; Elyse Dagner, sister-in-law, Norma Kostelecky, brother-in laws, Laudie Ficek, Robert F. Kadrmas, Andrew Kuylen, Marvin Dagner, and Richard Spaulding.
