A liturgy of the word service for Georgina Steffan, 86, of Dickinson will be 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at Stevenson Funeral Home with Deacon Bob Stockert officiating. Burial will follow at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan.


Visitation for Georgina will be from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at Stevenson Funeral Home with a rosary being held at 6:00 p.m.


Georgina passed away Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at CHI St. Alexius Health, Bismarck.


Georgina Rambousek was born October 25, 1931 on the family farm near New Hradec, the daughter of Anton and Mary (Luptak) Rambousek. She attended grade school at the country school near her home. On October 19, 1949, Georgina married Sylvin J. Steffan at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in New Hradec. Together, they raised four children: Geraldine, Randall, Loretta and Sydney. Georgina worked at St. Wenceslaus Elementary School as a cook. She was a resident of St. Benedicts Health Care since February 2012.


Georgina loved to garden and was known to make the best sauerkraut, dill pickles and beets. She loved to bake honey cookies, sour cream twists, kolache and rice krispie bars. Her family loved waking up to the delicious aromas coming from her kitchen. She enjoyed crocheting, blitz card games, putting together puzzles, going to the casino, and polka music.


Georgina is survived by her children; Geraldine (David) Anzek of Kansas City, KS, Randall (Connie) Steffan of Dickinson, Loretta (Kenny) Entze of Golden Valley, ND, Sydney J. Steffan of Laguna Woods, CA; five grandchildren, Kyle, Lexee Steffan, Tyson (Melanie) Schwab, Coleman Entze, Holly (Tyler) Rackleff, three step-grandchildren, Jamie (Anastasia) Krehlik, Rachel (Adam) Gillen, Elizabeth (Ryan) Olheiser; great-grandchild, Bristol Schwab; step-great-grandchildren, Dante, Harper Krehlik, Trenton, Taelen Gillen, Madison Olheiser; siblings; Martha Marsh of Dickinson, Henry (Gladys) Rambousek of South Heart, Margie Jilek of Dickinson, and Shirley Dahmus of Fargo; and brother-in-law, Louie Sadowsky.


She is preceded in death by her husband, Sylvin; parents, Anton and Mary Rambousek; infant brothers, Charlie, Joseph; infant sister, Edith; siblings, Tony (Edith) and Andrew Rambousek, Dorothy (Andrew) Ridl, Mary (John) Praus, Eleanor (Charles) Marsh, Victoria Sadowsky; brothers-in-law, George Marsh, Tony Jilek, Paul Dahmus; daughter-in-law; Christina Ann Steffan, step-great-grandchildren, infant twins, Ethan and Emmitt Olheiser.


In lieu of flowers family suggest memorials to the Rheumatoid Arthritis Association.
