Gerald enlisted in the Air Force on January 10, 1955 and graduated from high school later that spring. After basic training, Gerald went on to serve in Tokyo, Japan during the Korean War. On March 22, 1956, Gerald married Eileen M. Ficek in Dickinson, ND. From this loving union, three children were born: Lana, Milo F. and Todd. He was very proud of all his achievements with the Baker Boy. After 50 years of service, Gerald retired in May of 2012. Gerald loved his big boy toys. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and his annual trip to Sturgis. He also enjoyed relaxing, watching his fish in the aquarium and football. But most of all, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They were his pride and joy. He was always very proud of his children and grandchildren and loved them very much. Gerald was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Elks Lodge and St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.
