Gerald Stagl

Jerry graduated from New England St. Mary?s High School in May of 1970. He entered the U.S. Army on September 27, 1972, and was honorably discharged on September 19, 1974. After his discharge from the Army, he began his life career of farming, to which he was very dedicated. He enjoyed walking, traveling, enjoying nature, and lively discussions with family. He also was a hunting guide and escort to his brothers-in-law, enjoying the fruits of the hunt. He didn?t drink much, but loved Pina Coladas, Yellow Squirrels; and pumpkin pie. Devoted to the Blessed Mother, he was a gentle man with a generous heart, an infectious crooked smile, bright eyes, a subtle sense of humor, a willingness to help those in need and was a generous volunteer at St. Mary?s Parish. He is survived by: his mother, Eugenia Stagl, rural New England; five brothers, James (Carole) Stagl, Crooked River Ranch, OR, Edward Stagl, Portland, OR, Richard Stagl, rural New England, Paul (Joanne) Stagl, Wichita, KS, Robert Stagl, rural New England; three sisters, Shirley (Larry) Kremla, Omaha, NE, Connie (Richard) Richter, Jamestown, ND, Mary Jean Anderson, Colorado Springs, CO; 19 nieces and nephews; 15 great nieces and nephews, special family friends, Cely Rohan and Becky Hilton and several aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by: his father, Thomas; paternal and maternal grandparents; numerous uncles and aunts. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to: God?s Child Project, 721 Memorial Highway, PO Box 1573, Bismarck, ND 58504. The family expresses heartfelt thanks to Fr. Basil Atwell, O.S.B. for his compassionate, loving counsel and spiritual support. We also express our appreciation to all those who extended a gracious helping hand to our family.
