Germaine Lewis, 75, Bismarck, died an untimely death in a fire at her home on May 29, 2005. A mass to celebrate her life will be at 9:30 a. m. , Friday, June 3, 2005 at St. Patrick?s Catholic Church, Dickinson, with Fr. Austin Vetter celebrating. Interment will be at 2:30 p. m. CDT in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Glen Ullin. Visitation will be Noon to 9 p. m. , Thursday, June 2, 2005 at Price-Murphy Funeral Home, Dickinson, with a rosary being said at 7 p. m. Germaine Fitterer was born October 27, 1929, to Paul and Rose (Hertz) Fitterer in Glen Ullin, ND and was raised on a farm south of town. In 1948, she moved to Dickinson and began working as a waitress at Binek?s Rec. It was here that she met and married Frank Lewis. Together they had five children. She continued to work as a waitress in Dickinson. In 1991, she moved to Bismarck and worked at Kroll?s Kitchen until her retirement in 2000. Germaine enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren and was very proud of her great-granddaughter, Taylor. Her family was her life. Germaine is survived by: one daughter, Linda Fridley, (Jon Bogner), Dickinson, ND; four sons, Ken (Vicki) Lewis, Bismarck, ND, Ron (Deb) Lewis, Dickinson, ND, Gordy Lewis, Farson, WY, and Robby Lewis, Minneapolis, MN; six grandchildren, Lindsay, Ashley, Whitney, Tanner, Cole and Bronson; one great-granddaughter, Taylor; two sisters, Agnes Schaff and Lorraine Steckler, and one brother, Jerry Fitterer. She was preceded in death by: her parents and an infant brother. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to: The Germaine Lewis Memorial Fund, c/o Kirkwood Bank and Trust, 221 1st Ave. W. , Dickinson, ND 58601. This fund will be used for medical supplies to assist those suffering with Lymphedema/Cancer.
