Funeral Mass for Gerry Badinger, 85, will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church with Father Shannon Lucht celebrating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
Visitation for Gerry will be from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at Stevenson Funeral Home with a rosary & vigil service being held at 6:00 p.m.
Gerry (Geraldine) Badinger, 85, died Thursday November 16th, 2017 at her home in Dickinson.
Gerry was born November 9th, 1932 the daughter of Vincent and Sophia (Faiman) Semerad. She was raised on a farm northeast of Dickinson. She was educated at Verssippi school and graduated the valedictorian in a class of two. On January 3rd, 1951 she was married to William (Bill) Badinger and raised seven children with two daughters “book ending” five boys in between.
Upon returning from their honeymoon, they moved onto the Badinger homestead and carried on the family business, Badinger Sand & Gravel, where she maintained the books. In 1962, the business was expanded by the launch of Stark Ready Mix. In 1990, Bill passed away and years later she found love again with Leo Lesmeister. They were married November 24th, 1995 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Dickinson
Gerry’s passions included sewing, bowling, gardening, cards, golfing, and her family especially her beloved sisters and grandchildren.
Gerry had the privilege of exploring the world from fishing in Alaska, swimming with dolphins, touring Europe, and taking family trips with her children and grandchildren.
Gerry was a member of Catholic Daughters of America and actively volunteered at CHI St. Alexius Health, Queen of Peace Catholic Church, and other organizations in the community.
Gerry is survived by her seven children Cheryl Badinger, Champlin, MN, Dean (Sandy) Badinger, Fargo, ND, Cory (Barb) Badinger, Fargo, ND, Myles (Shelley) Badinger, Dickinson, ND, Barry (Toni) Badinger, Ashburn, VA, John Badinger, Bismarck, ND, and Susi (Scott) Link, Champlin, MN; 11 grandchildren; 4 step grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; 11 great step grandchildren; four sisters, Delores Wanner, Dickinson, ND, Arlys (Joe) Boespflug, Dickinson, ND, Diane Binstock, Dickinson, ND, June (Jim) Kobriger, Tucson, AZ. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, William Badinger and Leo Lesmeister, and sister, Jean Willer.
Through her health struggles, she was blessed with her special angels, Myles & Shelley Badinger. Their care and love were immeasurable as they gave so much time caring for her on a daily basis.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the American Lung Association.
