A funeral service for Glenn Warren Hinshaw, 91, of Dickinson will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 24, 2012 at Stevenson Funeral Home with Pastor Karen Dvirnak officiating. Burial will follow at the Werner Cemetery.


Visitation for Glenn will be 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Sunday, September 23, 2012 at Stevenson Funeral Home in Dickinson.


Glenn passed away Thursday, September 20, 2012 at St. Luke’s Home in Dickinson.


Glenn Hinshaw was born February 28, 1921 in Werner, ND, the son of Orla and Echo (McMillen) Hinshaw. He grew up on the family farm, while attending grade school in Werner and high school in Halliday, graduating in 1939. Glenn was a talented musician. He was able to play six different instruments and he played over the Dickinson radio station for many years after he graduated from high school. On September 18, 1953, Glenn was united in marriage to Emma Fandrich in Manning, North Dakota. Glenn and Emma raised three daughters, Audrey, Mary and Sharon. Glenn worked for Fisher Sand & Gravel in Bismarck for three years before he began farming in the Halliday area in 1956. He retired from the farm in 1989 and moved to Dickinson.


Glenn is survived by his wife, Emma; daughters, Mary (Gary) Lukach of Dickinson and Sharon (Melvin) Schuh of Killdeer; son-in-law, Mark Monette of Hobbs, NM; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.


He is preceded in death by his parents, Orla and Echo; daughter, Audrey Monette; one granddaughter, Cheryl Schuh; sisters, Margaret Trinka and Charlotte Bailey; and brothers, Ivan and Orris Hinshaw.
