Funeral Service for Glenn D. Norberg, 83, of Killdeer, ND. formerly of Butte, ND is at 10:00 a. m. on Friday, June 25, 2004, at St. John??s Lutheran Church with the Rev. Aanen Gjovik, officiating. A Second service will be held at, 3:30 PM (CDT) on Friday at the St. Paul?s Lutheran Church in Butte, ND. Interment will follow in Butte Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 p. m. to 8:00 p. m. at Stevenson-Mischel-Olson Chapel in Killdeer followed by a Masonic service at 7:00 p. m. Glenn passed away Sunday, June 20, 2004 at his home in Killdeer. He was born December 8, 1920 near Butte, ND the son of George W. & Tillie (Lundbeck) Norberg. He attended rural school in Byersville Township and high school in Balfour, ND. As a teenager, Glenn worked as a farmhand for several area farmers. In 1938, he joined the Civilian Conservation Corps and worked in Montana and North Dakota for 2 years. He returned to the Butte area and worked various jobs including several years hauling fuel for the Farmer Union Oil Co. . Glenn married Lena Zabolotny on June 25, 1949 at Washburn, ND. The couple moved to Anaconda, MT in 1951 where Glenn was employed with the Butte Anaconda Pacific Railroad for several years. He also worked as a boilermaker/shipfitter for The Anaconda Company and the Anaconda Foundry. Glenn retired from the foundry in 1979. Glenn & Lena moved to Killdeer, ND in 1980 where they enjoyed their retirement years. Glenn was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Order of the Eastern Star, & the Fraternal Order of Eagles. He enjoyed gardening, playing cards, watching baseball, and visiting with his friends. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Melanie, Jen, Carmen, Sue, & Cindy for all the special care they provided to Glenn. Glenn is survived by his wife of 55 years, Lena Norberg of Killdeer, ND; Two sons: Terry (Diane) Norberg of Anaconda, MT and their children Heidi, Austin, Teshena, & Ezra; and Gary (Dorothy) Norberg of Killdeer, ND and their children Chris, Craig, Jason, Travis, & Kerrie; Seven Great-Grandchildren; Five Brothers: Clarence (Margaret) Norberg of Palm Coast, FL; Floyd (Dorothy) Norberg of Sterling, IL; Dale (Dorothy) Norberg of Minot, ND; Jerry (Arlene) Norberg of Valley City, ND; & Richard Norberg of Butte, ND; Two Sisters: Marjorie McBeth of West Fargo, ND; & Eunice (Harvey) Tyler of Alamosa, CO; and many Nieces & Nephews. He was preceded in death by his Parents, Two Brothers, Arnie & Earl Norberg, & a Brother-in-Law (Walter McBeth)
