A Funeral Service for Gloria Boggs, 76, of Baker, MT will be at 10:00 a. m. on Monday, December 17, 2012, at the American Lutheran Church in Baker, MT. Interment will follow in Bonnievale Cemetery at Baker. Visitation will be 2:00 p. m. to 8:00 p. m. on Sunday, December 16th, with the family receiving friends from 2:00 p. m. to 4:00 p. m. at Stevenson Funeral Home. Gloria Janet Varner was born on February 11, 1936, to Reuel (Bob) and Marguerite (Crawford) Varner in Baker, Montana. She grew up on the family farm southeast of Baker, near Webster, MT. She attended school through the 8th grade at Chimney Creek country school. She graduated from Baker High School in 1954. She worked for the Baker Variety Store for a short time. She married Robert Boggs on December 7, 1957, in Baker, Montana at the Lutheran Church. Two children were born to her and Robert, Leslie Robert and Melodie Kaye. She then went to work for Fallon County, working in many offices before retiring from the Sheriff’s Office in 1999. She was a very thoughtful, giving, caring person. Christmas was her favorite time of the year and she always made it a very special time for all of us. Especially after her two granddaughters came along. She was shopping for them all the time. We will miss her immensely!!Gloria was a member of American Lutheran Church in Baker; served as a board member on both the Fallon Medical Complex and FMC Foundation. She fought long and hard with many health problems over the years, never giving up. She passed away Thursday, December 13, 2012 at the Fallon Medical Complex in Baker. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, several in-laws and her son-in-law John Bertsch. She is survived by her loving husband Robert Boggs, son Les (Darcy) Boggs, daughter Melodie (special friend Mark Lester) Bertsch and her two lights of her life granddaughters Jillian & Cameron Boggs all of Baker. She is also survived by her brother Bobby (Linda) Varner and sister, Marlene (Jim) Karch, and her aunt Miriam Kirschten all of Baker and several nieces and nephews.
