Gloria Wanner

Liturgy of the Word for Gloria Wanner, 91, of Dickinson will be 10:30 am Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at Stevenson Funeral Home in Dickinson. Burial will follow at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery.

Visitation for Gloria will be half an hour prior to the service.

Gloria passed away on Thursday, March 13, 2025 at St. Benedict’s Health Center in Dickinson.

Gloria Mae Wanner was born on July 3, 1933 in Richardton, North Dakota to Nicholas and Anna (Ostoj) Dinius.

Gloria married Peter John Wanner on March 27, 1951 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Dickinson. Peter and Gloria were blessed with six children, Ardella, Harlan, Gery, Elvis, Grace, and Carol.

Gloria was involved in the Altar Society at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church and St. Anthony Hall.

Gloria loved to walk, play the piano, dance, and sing. She also learned to bowl and enjoyed doing so for many years. Her favorite things to watch were baseball and PBR on the television.

There was a time she worked at Red Owl in the bakery, where she made dear friends in Alice Roshau and Eva Semerad. She loved meeting new people and could visit about anything and everything. She had a smile and a laugh that were contagious.

Gloria is survived by her children, Harlan Wanner of Mandan, Gery Wanner of Gillette, WY, Elvis (Karen) Wanner of Chandler, AZ, Grace Voeltz of Sioux Falls, SD, and Carol (Rick) Kasper of Fairfield; grandchildren, Michael (Lisa) Vinopal, Joshua (Molly) Wanner, Taylor (Kiley) Maddux-Weisbeck, Laine (Mallory) Weisbeck, Matthew Wanner, Rachel (Zack) Bell, Candi Preheim, Eric (Wendy) Holway, Trisha Voeltz, Angie (Tom) Fillaus, Heather (Jake) Elseth, Hayley Heupel, and Jena Kasper; 36 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Virginia (Dennis) Potts, Marlene Dinius, and Janice (Butch) Bestrom; and brother, Melvin (Connie) Dinius.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Nick and Anna Dinius; husband, Peter J. Wanner; daughter, Ardella Weisbeck; sons-in-law, Terry Weisbeck and Larry Voeltz; grandsons, Harley Wanner and Tyler Heupel; great-grandson, Will Maddux; sisters, Lillian Richardson, Delores Styes, Sylvia Belile, and Norita Goetz; brothers, Lesley Dinius, George Dinius, and Donald Dean Dinius; brothers-in-law, Frank (Katherine) Wanner, Florian (Rose) Wanner, Jack (Katie) Wanner, Nick (Jenny) Wanner, Cap (Mary) Wanner, Adam (Eugenia) Wanner, Mike (Eva) Wanner, Phil (Francis) Wanner, John (Maria) Wanner, Paul (Edith) Wanner, Seb Wanner, Louie (Christine) Wanner, and Linus Wanner; sister-in-law, Monica (Florian) Wandler; and her very special friend, Orlen Sayler.
