Funeral Services for Goldie Remsing, 91 of Dunn Center will be 2:00 p. m. Friday, October 1, 2004 at the Normanna Lutheran Church in Dunn Center with Pastor Aanen Gjovik officiating. Burial will follow in the Dunn Center Cemetery. Visitation will be at Stevenson-Mischel-Olson Chapel, Dickinson on Wednesday, September 29, 2004 from 1:00 p. m. to 5:00 p. m. ; at Stevenson-Mischel-Olson Chapel, Killdeer Thursday from 10:00 a. m. to 9:00 p. m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p. m. . Visitation will continue at Stevenson-Mischel-Olson Chapel, Killdeer on Friday from 9:00 a. m. to 11:00 a. m. ; at the Normanna Lutheran Church, Dunn Center one hour prior to service. Goldie passed away Monday, September 27, 2004 at St. Joseph?s Hospital in Dickinson. Goldie was born December 18, 1912 in Boone, Iowa to Grant Brown and Catherine Sherholtz Brown. She moved to Dunn Center at the age of 9 where her family farmed and she attended school. On September 12, 1930 she was married to Matt Remsing in Manning, ND. She continued to farm in Dunn Center with her husband, where they raised their family. In 1953 she began a career as a school lunch cook, which she did for many years. After the school closed, she began cooking in the Killdeer school for many years. Goldie was well known for her buns and sticky rolls. After retiring, Goldie helped care for the elderly at LuAnn?s and served meals for the Elder Care in Dunn Center. Goldie enjoyed her garden, flowers, and pets. Goldie and her son, Donovan enjoyed their independence and the time they spent together. Survivors include two sons: Darrell (Joanne) Remsing, Elcho, WI, Donovan Remsing, Dunn Center, ND; two daughters: Beverly (Ted) Trinka, Minot, ND, Marilyn (John) Root, Lewistown, MN; two sisters: Rose Reed, Iowa City, IA, Hazel Pavlenko, Milwaukee, WI; six grandchildren: Beverly, Jerilyn, Cathy, Sandy, Todd, David and thirteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Matt; a son: William; a brother: Claude Brown; a sister: Dort Zeka and two infant siblings
