Gordon H. Myran, 83, rural Taylor, died Thursday, September 29, 2005 at his home. Funeral services are 1 p. m. , Monday, October 3, 2005 at Taylor Lutheran Church, Taylor. Interment will be in Ridgeway Cemetery, rural Taylor with Military Rites provided by Joseph E. Lautz VFW Post #7438. Visitation will be 1 p. m. to 9 p. m. , Sunday, October 2, 2005 at Price-Murphy Funeral Home, Dickinson with a prayer service at 7 p. m. Visitation will continue Monday at the church one hour prior to the service. Gordon Myran was born April 8, 1922 to Lars and Esther (Anderson) Myran. He attended grade school at Lone Eagle School, rural Taylor and high school in Taylor. He entered the Army Air Corp and served in the 8th Army Air Borne. Gordon was a golden gloves boxer, while in the Air Corp. After his military service he worked for Northern Pacific Railroad for 2 ? years. In 1950, he purchased a ranch north of Tappen, where he raised registered Hereford cattle. Then in 1957, he purchased his Grandmother Myran?s ranch north of Taylor, where he continued to raise registered Herefords until the time of death. He married Joyce Merz in Baker, MT on December 23, 1944. He was a member of the American Hereford Association, North Dakota Hereford Association, North Dakota Stockmen?s Association, American Legion, Taylor Horsefest Committee, Ridgeway Cemetery Board, Richardton Saddle Club, and the Taylor Lutheran Church. He enjoyed rodeos, roping, and the Taylor Horsefest. He is survived by: his wife, Joyce, rural Taylor; two daughters, Louise (Stanley) Pollestad, Halliday, Lanell (Jerry) Greff, Dickinson; one son, Milton (Beverly) Myran, Gladstone; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three sisters, LaVern Dubrall, Pico Riveria, CA, Laura Zweifel, Bereford, SD, Margaret Nolte, and Hebron, ND. He was preceded in death by: his parents; four brothers and one sister.
