Graveside services for Gordon Richmond, 89, of Marmarth, ND, will be held at 11 AM on Monday, January 13, at Riverside Cemetery, Marmarth. At his request, cremation will take place. Gordon passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at Fallon Medical Complex, Baker. Gordon was born on December 7, 1924 at the family home in Snohomish, WA. At a young age, he moved with his family to Marmarth, ND where he grew up and attended school. As a young man, Gordon spent time working for the Milwaukee Railroad roundhouse, as well as several local ranches. Eventually, he would spend most of his life working in the oil field. Gordon’s true passion was his love for horses. Many would recall his profound eye for a “good horse”. He spent many years owning and running race horses and was very integral in starting the Little Missouri Saddle Club. Over the years, Gordon also enjoyed raising and selling dogs. Survivors include his dog, Bandit; sister, Yvonne Bagley of Marmarth, ND; brother, Ronald (Gloria) Richmond of Spokane, WA; three nephews: Jerry (Charlene) Williams of Utah, John “Butch” (Karen) Bagley of Helena, MT, and Bill (Mary Ellen) Bagley of Baker, MT; five nieces: Jackie Lovejoy of California, Sherry Farmer of Post Falls, ID, Bonnie (Wally) Erickson of Canadian, TX, Peggy Bagley-Smith of Baker, MT, and Cindy Thompson of Miles City, MT; numerous great-nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Barbara Roberts; and a nephew, Buzz Richmond.
