Funeral Service for Gregory Torgerson, 65, of Dickinson, ND will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, November 16, 2019 at Stevenson Funeral Home in Dickinson with Pastor Joe Natwick officiating. Burial will follow at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Tioga, ND.
Visitation for Gregory will be from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Friday, November 15, 2019 at Stevenson Funeral Home in Dickinson.
Gregory Steven Torgerson, 65, Dickinson, ND, passed on November 9, 2019 at Sanford Hospital in Fargo, ND.
Greg was born November 10, 1953 to Duane and LeoraBelle (Larry) Torgerson in Tioga, ND. He was raised in Tioga and attended Tioga High School. He went ND State School of Science in Wahpeton, ND for auto body.
Greg worked various jobs throughout his life-Tioga Air Heaters, Tioga Swabbing and then moved to Colorado and worked at Metal Packaging for many years. He then moved to Dickinson and became a part of the Steier Oil Field Service family. He loved working in the patch and was very proud of the work he did.
When one thinks of Greg, you think of a kind, loving, soft hearted soul, and generous to a fault, sometimes to his own detriment.
Family was important to Greg. He loved family gatherings and playing pinochle. Greg came over every morning and played a game of pinochle with his mother-they even kept score on who was ahead. His nieces and nephews were very important to him as he had no children of his own. His love extended to a special young man, whom he helped raise.
Greg’s passion in life was music, cars, WWE, pinochle and women, not necessarily in that order. He loved getting together with friends, especially his friends who were like a second family at the Southside, where he would go for camaraderie and of course sharing stories. Greg could entertain you with his stories for hours.
The Heavenly Father decided Greg should celebrate his 66th birthday at his eternal home instead of in the ICU and brought him home.
Greg is survived by his mother, LeoraBelle “Larry” Torgerson, Dickinson, ND; brothers, Miles (Ann) Torgerson, Whitewood, SD, Lary (Nancy) Torgerson, Tioga, ND and a sister, Lee (Ken) Steier, Dickinson; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Greg was preceded in death by his father, Duane and a nephew, Lance.
