Funeral Mass for Hanna Heidecker, 86, of Dickinson will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Dickinson, with Father Jeff Zwack celebrating. Burial will take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Dickinson.


Visitation for Hanna will be from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Monday, August 1, 2011 at Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson, with a rosary and vigil service being held at 7:00 p.m.


Hanna passed away Wednesday, July 27, 2011, at St. Benedict’s Health Center in Dickinson.


Hanna Scheeler was born November 27, 1924 to Joseph and Rose (Flink) Scheeler. She grew up on the family farm and attended country school in Stark County. During her younger days, Hanna helped in the homes of neighboring farms. On November 26, 1946, Hanna was united in marriage to Frank P. Heidecker at St. Philips Catholic Church in Hirschville, ND. To this union three children were born: Gary, Darlene and Gerald. Together, the couple owned and operated a radiator shop in Halliday for a year and a half and later moved to Mandan and Parshall, ND. In 1951, the family moved to Dickinson where Frank worked for the City and later became the Street Superintendant. Hanna enjoyed working in retail and interacting with the public. She worked at Joe’s Fairway, Town & Country Liquor and Quality Quick Print. Hanna was fond of camping and fishing in her younger years as well as traveling in later years. Hanna loved to cook, bake and host family and friends at her home.


Hanna is survived by her two sons: Gary (Fayette) Heidecker and Gerald (Lynette) Heidecker both of Dickinson; one daughter, Darlene (Gary) Dowdy of Wickenberg, AZ; three brothers, Gilbert (Josephine) Scheeler of Dickinson, Ted (Georgia) Scheeler of Dickinson and Richard (Evie) Scheeler of Tuscon, AZ; two sisters, Angie Heidecker of Dickinson and Lorraine (Joe) Heidecker of Dickinson; seven grandchildren, Laurie (Chris) Strommen, Jeremy (Cristin) Heidecker, Scott Heidecker, Justin (Kelsey) Heidecker, Jaden Heidecker, Gregg Dowdy and Jason (Deanna) Dowdy; and seven great-grandchildren, Reygan & Lincoln Strommen, Kiyah, Korbyn & Monte Dowdy, and Paige & Tanner Dowdy.


She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Rose Scheeler; her husband, Frank; two brothers, Ralph (Ray) and Edward Scheeler; and one brother-in-law, William Heidecker.


In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Benedict’s Health Center.
