Harold Samuel Grosz was born February 23, 1931 near Hazen, ND, the son of Sam and Elsie (Wolf) Grosz. He grew up and attended country school near Hazen. He worked on the farm for several years before he started learning the electrical trade for Wolfeil Electric. It was during this time that he met and married Marlyn Hornberger. To this union, two sons, Jason and Gerald were born. After earning his Journeyman’s Electric certificate, he joined the Electricians Union of IBEW-714. The union took him to jobs throughout the United States. Later in life, Harold met Evelyn Reinbold. The couple was married on December 16, 1978 and spent their entire married life living in Hebron, North Dakota. Together, they enjoyed traveling to the West Coast, Branson, MO, Washington, DC, Virginia, Colorado, Wyoming and Alaska. They enjoyed their time at their cabin at Lake Tschida, where Harold in his younger days, did a lot of water skiing, showing the kids and grandkids just how it was done. He would sit on the dock, when he was ready to ski, he would yell to the boat driver “row de boat!” and then he was off and running. Harold enjoyed fishing, hunting (especially turkeys), woodworking, tinkering, helping fix family projects and delivering meals. He also enjoyed working on the farm, especially helping his brother with harvest. Harold was an avid listener of Minnesota Twins games.
