Harold Jensen

Funeral Service for Harold Jensen, 91, of Baker, MT will be 1:30 p. m. Wednesday, September, 8, 2010 at Stevenson Funeral Home, Baker, MT, with Father Thomas Tobin officiating. Burial will follow at St. John?s Catholic Cemetery, Baker. Visitation will take place from 2:00 p. m. to 8:00 p. m. Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at Stevenson Funeral Home, Baker. Visitation will continue on Wednesday from 9:00 a. m. to 1:00 p. m. at Stevenson Funeral Home. Harold passed away on Saturday, September 4, 2010 at the Fallon Medical Complex in Baker, MT. Harold Walter Jensen was born on December 27, 1918, in Kellogg. IA, a son to Fallon County homesteader parents, Henry and Johanna (Andersen) Jensen. Harold grew up on the homestead east of Baker where he lived his entire life until 2007, when he and Lillian moved into Baker. He attended the Golden Valley Country School, and later attended Baker High School, where he graduated. Harold met Lillian Klouda, and the two were married on July 2, 1947, in Chicago, IL. Harold enjoyed horses and ranching; and he was especially proud of his Herford cattle. He liked to tinker with and restore old vehicles, two of which have been donated to the O?Fallon Museum. Even with the busy ranching life, Harold was able to stay very active in the Baker community. He served on the School District 50 board, County Planning Board, the Extension Advisory Board for Fallon County representing the 18 County Development Association, he was especially proud of his membership of the International Society of Range Management. He and Lillian established a scholarship endowment to be provided at the annual Montana Range Days. He has also been a long term member and has served on the board of the Fallon County Historical Society. Harold?s greatest love in life was for his wife Lillian. Harold is survived by his wife, Lillian of Baker; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Johanna, an infant stillborn daughter and his two brothers, Louis and Earl Jensen.
