Funeral service for Harold Olson, 95, of Dickinson, formerly of Werner, ND will be at 10 a. m. , Monday, December 31, 2007 at Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson, North Dakota. Military honors will be presented by the Dickinson Drill Team. Interment will follow at Vang Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 p. m. to 5 p. m. , Sunday, December 30, 2007 at Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson, North Dakota. Harold passed away Thursday December 27, 2007 at the St. Benedict?s Health Center, Dickinson, North Dakota. Harold was born October 10, 1912 in Dunn County, the son of Haakon and Pernella Anderson Olson. He grew up and attended Eagle Nest Country School. He farmed with his father before enlisting in the U. S. Army in 1942. Harold was discharged in 1945 and returned to the farm and continued to farm until he retired in 1984. He remained on the farm until he sold the place in 2000, at which time he moved into Dickinson. During his retirement, Harold restored antique tractors, one of which he donated to the Dunn County Historical Society. Harold truly enjoyed the farm and the land which he loved. He spent time living on Vashon Island in the Seattle, WA, area during the winter months. Harold was a lifetime member of Vang Lutheran Church and a member of the American Legion Post in Killdeer, ND for 53 years. He is survived by a sister, Helen Olson of Dickinson, ND ; nephews; Dale (Pat) Monson, St. Cloud, MN. , Donald (Mary) Samuelson, Eau Claire, WI, Wayne (Mona) Samuelson, Hot Springs Village, AK; Nieces; LaVonne (Lou) Coover, San Diego, CA; Betty Kragness, Bethlehem, PA and numerous great nieces and nephewsHe was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Roy & Olaf Olson and three sisters; Margaret Samuelson, Signe Olson and Alyce Monson.
