Harris Hanson, 67, New England, died Friday, August 19, 2005, at St. Joseph?s Hospital and Health Center, Dickinson, after a five year battle with cancer. The funeral service will be 2 p. m. Wednesday, August 24, 2005, at Our Redeemer?s Lutheran Church, New England, with Chaplain James Oakland officiating. Interment will be in Our Redeemer?s Lutheran Cemetery, New England. Visitation will be 9 a. m. to 9 p. m. Tuesday at Price-Murphy Funeral Home, Dickinson. There will be a prayer service at 7:30 p. m. Tuesday at Price-Murphy Funeral Home. Visitation will continue Wednesday at the church one hour prior to the service. Harris Hanson was born November 27, 1937, to Henry and Isabel (Anderson) Hanson, in Slope County. He grew up on a farm in Moord Township in Slope County. Harris married Elaine Reisenauer on February 23, 1960. He served in the National Guard in his earlier years and worked in the oil fields in Montana and then later as a construction worker in many states. They returned from Carlin, Nevada and made their home in New England. Elaine died April 5, 2002. Harris enjoyed collecting antiques, going to car shows, square dancing, camping, fishing and visiting with his many friends. He also mischievously entertained his nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. Harris loved his dogs, Tuffy and Rusty. Harris is survived by: his sister, Harriet (Francis) Birnbaum, Hankinson, ND; brother, Hugo (Diana) Hanson, New England; aunt, Borghild Hanson, Hettinger; one sister-in-law, Marie (Leslie) Doe, Regent; two brothers-in-law, Tony Reisenauer, Dickinson, and Leo (Jane) Reisenauer, Richland, WA; nieces and nephews, Amy Hillman, Dickinson, Jennifer Hanson, Dickinson, Wade Birnbaum, Chicago, IL, Roxann Bulanda, Omaha, NE, Rosan Tiegs, Hankinson, ND, Rita Birnbaum, Omaha, NE, Donald Reiss, Great Falls, MT, Ruth Hatcher, Helena, MT, Brenda Doe, Everett, WA, Shelly Nicholls, Fargo, ND, Casey Doe, Rochester, MN, Nancy Christianson, Roseville, MN, Jody Doe, Killdeer, Stacy Doe, Dickinson, Sandy Moos, Dickinson, Debbie Hutzenbiler, Belfield, Pam Pendell, Livingston, MT, Randy Reisenauer, Dickinson, and Atonette Reisenauer, Richland, WA. He was preceded in death by: his wife; parents; two sisters-in-law, Frances Reiss and Dorothy Reisenauer, and two nephews, Dale and Michael Birnbaum. Memorials are preferred to the: New England Ambulance or Our Redeemer?s Lutheran Cemetery.
