Harry V. Kostelecky, 97, Dickinson, died Friday, October 14, 2005, at St. Benedict?s Health Center, Dickinson. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a. m. Tuesday, October 18, 2005, at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Dickinson, with Rev. Jeff Zwack celebrating. Interment will be in St. Wenceslaus Cemetery, Dickinson. Visitation will be 2 p. m. to 5 p. m. , Sunday, October 16, 2005 at Price-Murphy Funeral Home, continuing Monday from 9 a. m. to 9 p. m. , at Price-Murphy Funeral Home. There will be rosary followed by a prayer service at 7:30 p. m. Monday, led by Marge Hibl. Harry was born March 9, 1908, north of South Heart to Frank and Sophie (Kudrna) Kostelecky. In 1930, Harry married Rose Pavlish at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Dickinson. Together they had six children, one of whom died in infancy. He operated a farm on the northern outskirts of Dickinson and retired at the age of 58. He anxiously watched his farm disappear to the growth of Dickinson. In their retirement, Harry and Rose loved to travel. Rose died June 4, 2003. Harry enjoyed fishing, bowling, playing accordion and loved old time music. He was a Lifetime Member of the Knights of Columbus Club. Harry is survived by: three daughters, Gladys Zimmerman, Dickinson, Patricia (Bruce) Jessen, Dickinson, Marlene (Robert) Fowler, Camarillo, CA; two sons, Larry (Hyacinth) Kostelecky, Dickinson, Ronald (Carolyn) Kostelecky, Austin, Texas; 11 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by: his parents; his wife, Rose; infant daughter, Mary Kay; four brothers, Joe, Frank, Steve and Vince Kostelecky, and three sisters, Mary Bezdicek, Anna Kovash and Catherine Tuhy. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to: St. Benedict?s Health Center, 851 4th Ave East, Dickinson, ND 58601.
