Funeral Services for Harry Oukrop, 90, of Dickinson will be at 10:00 a. m. Tuesday, October 4, 2005 at St. John?s Evangelical Lutheran Church with Pastors Steven Tangen and Pat Higgins Officiating. Burial will follow in Dickinson Cemetery in Dickinson. Visitation will be 1:00 p. m. to 5:00 p. m. , Sunday, October 2, 2005 and 9:00 a. m. to 9:00 p. m. , Monday, October 3, 2005 with a prayer service at 7:00 p. m. at Stevenson-Mischel-Olson Chapel in Dickinson. Harry passed away Wednesday, September 28, 2005 at his farm home northwest of Dickinson. Harry was born the youngest of three children, November 5, 1914, to Henry and Helen (Chastek) Oukrop on the family farm Northwest of Dickinson. He grew up and attended local country school near the farm. On June 26, 1932, Harry married Amy (Hanel) at St. John?s Lutheran Church in Dickinson. Together they made their home on the Oukrop family farm and were blessed with two children: Daniel and Henrietta. They were very fortunate to spend their entire lives together on the farm, apart from the winters they spent in Albuquerque, NM. Harry and Amy celebrated 69 years of marriage on June 26, 2001. Harry was a very active member of the community, serving in the Moose Lodge for many years as well as on the Board of Directors for Cenex for 9 years. He was also on the Board of Directors for the Federal Land Bank for 18 years, and the Board of Directors for the Farmers Co-Op Elevator in South Heart for 22 years. He was in the South Heart Local Farmers Union, was a Community Committee man for the ASC, a member of St. John?s Lutheran Church, and active in the Queen City Garden Club. Survivors include: one daughter: Henrietta (Carmen) Tweeten, Albuquerque, NM; one son: Daniel (Kathy) Oukrop, Dickinson, ND; one grandson: Kon Tweeten, Albuquerque, NM; one great-granddaughter: Kristi (Brian) Sterling, Lynchburg, VA; one foster daughter: Vivian Muck, Billings, MT; one nephew: William ?Bud? Hondle, Tacoma, WA. He is preceded by: his parents; his wife Amy on November 20, 2001; one brother: Henry Oukrop; one sister: Marie (Hondle) Tweeten.
